AI Citation
Definition
An AI Citation is a reference to a source that an AI system uses or attributes when generating an answer to an AI search question.
Why It Matters
AI Citations provide transparency about the sources AI systems use when generating AI-generated answers.
Simple Example
Someone asks an AI system, "What are the symptoms of Lyme disease?" and the AI identifies the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a source for the information in its answer.
