Entity Recognition is an AI system's ability to recognize that a name, business, person, product, organization, place, or concept refers to a specific, identifiable entity rather than just words or data.
Why It Matters
Before an AI system can understand or name a business, it must first recognize that the business is a distinct entity.
Simple Example
A business is called "Smith Family Dentistry." An AI system recognizes that "Smith Family Dentistry" refers to the name of a specific dental practice rather than just a group of words.
