Keywords

Definition

Keywords are the words and phrases people use to search for information. Search engines like Google and Bing use keywords to help understand what a user is looking for. AI systems also consider keywords, but they rely on the overall meaning, context, and intent of the question when generating answers.

Why It Matters

Keywords remain important for traditional Search Engine Optimization (SEO), but businesses that want to improve AI Visibility should also focus on creating clear, accurate, and well-connected information that helps AI systems understand their business.

Simple Example

A plumbing company creates a page that repeats the phrase "emergency plumber" many times to target a Google search. That may help with traditional search optimization, but an AI system is more likely to use a page that clearly explains the company's services, service area, hours, and expertise when answering a user's question.
